- Misha Hammer
There is no limit to students' potential when the instructor knows how to guide them.
Misha Hammer is a dedicated violin and viola teacher. She began playing these beautiful instruments as a young child and continued playing through her school years and college. Throughout her musical education she received classical training where the ability to read music was a standard.
Misha has been involved in leading several orchestras and ensembles in chamber divisions since 1992. In addition to teaching at Inspire Music Academy, she is also the Strings Specialist at these Pleasanton Schools: Amador Valley High School, Foothill High School and Thomas Hart Middle School.
Teaching Style and Philosophy
Learning to play the violin or viola is a commendable choice. I believe firmly in teaching students to read music and understand music theory. Both of these skills are thoroughly covered in each lesson, each week.
I demand details and excellence from each of my students and encourage them to demand the same from themselves. I use a variety of curricula, composers, and genres. My expertise is in classical repertoire, but I also teach several types of genres that are culturally influenced.
I have confidence in my students and I inspire them to believe that they can achieve their goals with their instruments. I consider each of my students and their skill level individually encouraging their strengths and working with them to reach their full potential. Because I enjoy what I do, I make extra efforts to make sure my students enjoy their experience with me too. There is no limit to students' potential when the instructor knows how to guide them.
